Max Kortegast joined Hopwood Financial in 2025. Max has over ten years of experience in private wealth management, advising high-net-worth clients on comprehensive financial planning, investment strategy, and generational wealth transfer. Before joining Hopwood Financial, he served in senior advisory roles at Merrill Lynch and Wealthspire Advisors.
Max received his BBA in Finance and Marketing from James Madison University, where he was a four-year member of the JMU Ice Hockey team. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.
Max is an avid golfer, regularly participating in USGA Mid-Amateur tournaments across Virginia and Maryland. He lives in Washington, D.C. and is passionate about staying active in the local community.
